As per GMP of Pharma, companies need to control quality of raw materials, recipes, specifications, workflow as well as the finished product as per standards. Quality control is often applied to to the receipt and storage of raw materials in addition to the storage and dispatch of finished goods. This requires efficient data handling so as to enable automatic trail, capturing compliance variables along with electronic signatures. Pharma companies need ability to proactively analyze, and correct environmental parameters.
While pharma's new strategies and business models promise significant impacts on cost and revenue, they demand levels of real time, integrated data handling which cannot be achieved with paper-based systems. These new systems demand higher availability and quality of data, which can only be met by deploying mobile data handling and electronic data capture (EDC) solutions. Mobile data capture technologies are enabling real time synchronisation of information related to events during production line operatins, shop floor, asset maintance, quality and compliance management, inter-department communication, and movement through the supply chain, thereby forming a common information conduit. To manage the data from manufacturing processes, pharma companies are moving from paper-based systems to mobile-based to improve real time communication, increase productivity and reduce the longer waiting time. With new distributed models, pharma companies are also building greater flexibility to integrate different applications and systems with least use of manual handling of data. Customer's are continuously demandin more lean system in terms of data handling.
