St. Jude Joins Healthcare Exchange

St. Jude Medical has joined the healthcare product exchange formed last month by five device manufacturers (see related story). That brings the total number of medical product companies participating in the exchange to 10.

The Global Health Care Exchange is an independent on-line enterprise designed to facilitate the exchange of information related to buying, selling, and distributing medical products and services worldwide, while also providing access to clinical content. It will provide equal access to all healthcare manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, providers, group purchasing organizations, and other healthcare trading partners.

Members of the exchange are: Abbott Laboratories, Baxter International Inc., GE Medical Systems, Johnson & Johnson, Medtronic Inc., Boston Scientific, Becton Dickinson, Tyco Healthcare, Guidant, and CR Bard.
