Vangard Voice Systems Launches To Integrate Voice Enabled Capabilities Into Enterprise Applications
January 17, 2006
Rancho Santa Margarita, CA - Vangard Voice Systems, Inc., a provider of middleware for turning speech into information at the point of action, announced its dedication to market the critical software component that seamlessly integrates into existing IT systems, allowing companies to easily and cost effectively voice enable their applications.
According to industry research firm The Yankee Group, there were 50 million mobile workers in the United States in 2004 and the number is growing by approximately 10 percent annually. Mobile workers in the healthcare, public safety, field service, transportation, manufacturing and logistics markets are demanding hands free, speech enabled access to a myriad of applications, to speed processes and improve data accuracy and integrity.
Vangard Voice Systems, an independent, privately-held company based in Rancho Santa Margarita, Calif., meets this demand through its AccuSPEECH® Solution, a patented technology for using speech to enter and access data on electronic forms in mobile environments. AccuSPEECH provides PDAs, desktop, tablet and notebook PCs with real-time, hands-free, wireless speech access to enterprise applications, delivering a fast, easy and accurate method for entering and accessing data on electronic forms in mobile environments.
"Other methods can't deliver the efficiency and cost-effectiveness of the Vangard solution for collecting complete, accurate information at the point of action in real time," said Bob Bova, CEO and president of Vangard Voice Systems. "Our focus is on the customer and their preference for using voice as a natural, comfortable way to complete their data activities using applications they already know, and still retain other data input methods."
The challenge of deploying speech as an interface technology has been the integration of the speech engine with the application, requiring complete redevelopment if the application or database was changed. Vangard's AccuSPEECH eliminates the integration issues by staying independent of the speech engine and the database, so that when changes are made, little additional work is required by the customer.
"AccuSPEECH accelerates integration by up to 10 times faster than any current commercially available voice recognition engine, while reducing the time for enterprise application enablement by 92 percent, delivering a faster time to market voice enabled solution with significantly reduced costs," Bova said. "AccuSPEECH lets companies realize bottom line benefits of efficiency, timeliness and accuracy by extending business critical applications to the mobile worker at the point of action, turning speech into information."
